Daniel A. Huard, LEED Fellow presented Aligning Priorities for a Positive Future Keynote
The 23rd Annual New York State Green Building Conference in Rochester provided a powerful backdrop where Daniel A. Huard, LEED Fellow, presented ‘Aligning Priorities for a Positive Future’ Keynote. The Conference conversations centered on regional resilience, equitable decarbonization, electrification, grid modernization, and the role of policy in accelerating market transformation as a next phase of green building.

According to Daniel A. Huard, LEED Fellow, what stood out most was the emphasis on regional equity. Decarbonization must work not only for dense urban cores but also for legacy cities, rural communities, and aging infrastructure systems. These focuses really align with Cities like Buffalo, Albany and Rochester, NY the host city for the 23rd Annual New York State Green Building Conference
The event brought together approximately 250 professional engineers, architects, and manufacturers to promote, educate, and support green building design, construction, and processes. The conference was hosted in partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council New York Upstate and the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems (SyracuseCoE). Speakers highlighted the importance of workforce development, utility coordination, and financing mechanisms that enable broad participation in the clean energy transition. This diverse representation ensured a comprehensive and enriching experience for all attendees.
